Our short term committees are more like task forces. They are formed for a specific purpose and duration of time. Examples include or Grant Committee and our Nominating Committee. Each is comprised of a certain number of general members and a certain number of board members.
The Grant Committee is formed in September. They will establish the criteria for the awarding of Grants which takes place at the December PWC meeting. This committee will evaluate and rate each application received and determine the amounts to the awarded if a person is eligible.
The Nominating Committee is typically formed some time around June. It is their responsibility identify potential board members and to present to the board a Slate of officers for the coming year. This committee is comprised of 2 general PWC members, 2 board members not interested in officer positions, the Council President, the Chair of the Councils and the Chamber Council Manager/Director.
Other examples of short term committees are:
- Women in Business Awards
- Chamber Expo Trade Show
- Home Goods Give-Away
We'd love to have you involved! If you are interested in being a part of any of these short term committees - please feel free to let any of our board members know.
