Together we talked about ways we could help promote each agency and how PWC might assist them with their work. I have a great deal of respect for what each of them do for the sake of children in the foster care system. If you meet them at an upcoming meeting, listen to their story and need..they are amazing!"      Elizabeth Paulson

"PWC has provided me with a wealth of knowledge, incredible friendships that will last a lifetime and an unending stream of valuable connections into the Jacksonville business environment. This year I was also the recipient of a scholarship to enhance my skills and grow my business. You just can't get that from every networking group out there. The combination is unique to PWC and joining should be the focus of all small business owners in Jacksonville."      Patti Harris

"Until recently, my 401K seemed safe, then I started noticing large companies having difficulties in paying out the promised money during this current time of economic hardship. To ensure that it keeps growing, I enlisted the help of Jeanne Peterson of the Met Life Foundation. With Jeanne's help, I have rolled my money into a secure IRA. I feel confident that Jeanne and Met Life will help to grow what I have into a nest egg of considerable wealth. If you find yourself holding a severance package or staring at the benefits from a job gone by - contact Jeanne - she really knows how to help shift your money into higher earnings. Elizabeth Paulson, Junior Achievement."      Elizabeth

"Thank you Joanne Lechner of Special Arrangements! Your special touch and attention to detail have left me in awe! I appreciate your work and look forward to continuing this partnership (Oh, and thanks for passing along the Bad Alice tip and taking me to tour their facility. They have given me an entire new angle for my redesign business and do create extraordinatory, incredible silk arrangements! You are the BEST.)"      Elizabeth

"Spectrum Signs (Diana Otwell) placed a banner with my business logo, designed by Imagine Arts (Kate Robinson-Chavez), on the back windshield of my SUV. Less than 30-minutes of leaving Spectrum Signs, a woman pulled up next to me in her car and asked me for my business card!   "I have been involved with the Professional Women's Council through the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce for 4 years and it has been the greatest single support system for my business(especially during transition) and my personal growth. The people I have met and many of whom have become great friends, mentors and clients have enhanced my life immeasurably! I have put in the time to be involved with PWC and could not be happier with the return. I am grateful to this amazing group!   "Getting involved with the Professional Women's Council of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce was an easy decision to make. The meeting is always high energy and you always meet someone new. I have developed friendships and partnerships from PWC members that will last a lifetime. This professional organization of business leaders within the Jacksonville community has connected me to a valuable group of individuals that keep me current on local events and organizations. A part of my job is to develop partnerships with local businesses and provide them complimentary advertising in the #1 preferred directory, the ATT Real Yellow Pages in exchange for visibility at special events. Some of these partnerships have created a great deal of visibility for ATT Real Yellow Pages and me. I am honored to be an officer on this prestigious organization that focuses on making valuable business connections!.   "Thank you so much for your support of the 2009 Sister to Sister Women’s Heart Health Fair! I am awaiting the final attendance numbers but we screened more than 800 women for heart disease risk factors! This is exactly what we had hoped to do. Several women also had critical values in the screening line. As you noticed, we were able to improve on the registration process by doing everything electronically this year. I think this was a good improvement for both our attendees and our volunteers. We were so fortunate to once again have community support of great organizations like the PWC! I really do appreciate all of you. Thank you for your continued encouragement and support, Rebecca Wells Event Coordinator Sister to Sister, Jacksonville The Callaghan Agency Rebecca Wells Tel: (904) 246-7494 402 North 4th Street Jacksonville Beach, Fl 32250"      Rebecca Wells

" Hi everyone, I wanted to write a short note this morning to tell you all 1) THANK YOU! and 2) a story. We had intake and orientation this morning over at the Davis Center for the three incoming women we are expecting today. One of them could not stay for the entire session because she had to go to work. Hope Brown, our Administrative Manager in the Davis Center, gave the young woman her key and room number and told her to go on up, get settled and then come back down. Within 5 minutes, the young woman – who is a foster child who has aged out of care – came back down and returned the key to Hope. She said, “You made a mistake. Someone already lives in that room.” Hope double-checked and said, “no, sweetie, that is your room.” The young woman, accompanied by our Housing Manager, went back up to room 346. A few minutes later, both of them came back crying. What an amazing story about someone who has NOTHING. You ladies made it possible for this young woman to come to a new home and feel at home. We couldn’t ask for more… Thank you so much – for everything. Donna Donna L. O'Steen Volunteer Coordinator/Database Manager Community Connections of Jacksonville "      Donna L. O'Steen

"Dear Eva and the wonderful PWC council.. This is a letter of the deepest gratitude for the wondrous opportunities afforded me through the nomination of Pioneer of the year , 2009. Because of this, March 25th 2009 became one of the most memorable days of my life by receiving the Award of Pioneer of the year and at the same time celebrating the 37th year of the Petunia Patch opening its doors. I must tell you that the event itself was so well orchestrated... from the moment we arrived (myself and my 94 year old mother) until the moment it was over.Thank you for attention to every little detail.... and making Mother feel welcome. Your Speaker, Maxine was delightful...she added sparkle to an already sparkling occasion. The fact that you all navigated through all the obstacles that confronted you and brought in a spectacular event inspite of it all, speaks to the talent and resolve that resides in our PWC and WBO. All in all, thank you again for the award and the event, the benefits that have followed , and the privilege of being a member of PWC and the Jacksonville chamber Sincerely Peggy Johnson 2009 Pioneer Of The Year "      Peggy Johnson
