2) passive service (donation of items),
3) Donation of time/services.
We do a number of varied and fun events and activities through the year, serving a wide population in the city. Our projects largely benefit females and our intention is to make a difference while bringing PWC members together in fun and service.

The PWC Community Involvement Committee is pleased to announce our 2010 Second Quarter initiative:
The GIRLS GOING PLACES Entrepreneurship Conference!
The Girls Going Places® Entrepreneurship Conference is a one-day conference designed to encourage teenage girls to take control of their financial future at an early age by broadening their understanding of the business world, starting businesses, managing personal finances and highlighting the advantages of financial independence. As part of the conference successful local women business owners get a chance to share their ideas and experience as mentors. The Girls Going Places® Entrepreneurship Conferences are held around the nation and was first brought to Jacksonville in 2005 as part of the NFL-sanctioned community events held during Super Bowl XXXIX Week in conjunction with the Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida (SBDC at UNF) and Guardian Life Insurance. The 5 th Annual Girls Going Places® Teen Entrepreneurship Conference will be held on April 15, 2010 from 7:30 am-2:00 pm at the UNF University Center. We need women business owners to volunteer as mentors. As a mentor your role will be to share “real-world” experiences and ideas that will help these girls see their potential, while motivating them to continue their accomplishments. You will facilitate small roundtable group discussions, answer questions, and share information about your background and business through interactive, hands-on activities. The conference in Jacksonville is now in its fifth year and so far has exposed over 400 young women to a whole new world of opportunities.
There will be a mandatory training meeting on April 7, 2010 immediately following the PWC meeting. The meeting will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the same room as the luncheon.
